When 5-year-old May Pierstorff asked to visit her grandmother, her parents had no money to buy a rail ticket. So they mailed her. In 1914, May’s parents proposed mailing her from Grangeville, parcel post to Lewiston, Idaho, 75 miles away. The postmaster found the “package” was under the 50-pound weight limit, so he winked at their plan, classed May as a baby chick, and put 53 cents in stamps on her coat. May rode in the train's mail car and was delivered safely to her grandparents.

A boy left his bike chained to a tree when he went away to war in 1914. He never returned, leaving the tree no choice but to grow around the bike. Incredible that this bike has been there for 98 years now!

In May of 2007, a small animal was caught in a rat trap in Mexico. The farmer that caught it drown it out of fear. Researchers have done numerous tests on the creature. It was first thought to be a skinned monkey but the tests proved not only did it have skin but the skin was close to human and reptilian combined. The creature has a large brain cavity which suggests intelligence. The researchers also could not find a DNA match of the creature and have no idea what it is or where it came from.

The fossilized Irish giant from 1895 is over 12 feet tall. The giant was discovered during a mining operation in Antrim, Ireland. Books, books books...

Εδώ είμαι πάλι να πω την άποψη μου και να σας αποκαλύψω τη γεύση μου άφησαν μερικά ακόμα βιβλία.

Αν έχετε διαβάσει και εσείς κάποιο από αυτά, με χαρά θα ήθελα να διαβάσω την γνώμη σας.

Ας ξεκινήσουμε…

Ο Αλχημιστής - Paulo Coelho - εκδόσεις << Νέα σύνορα >> - Α. Α. Λιβάνη

Αρχίζω με ένα πασίγνωστο βιβλίο, που νομίζω λίγοι είναι αυτοί που δεν το έχουν διαβάσει.

Έχει κομμάτια μέσα που μου άρεσαν, σαν σύνολο όμως δεν το βρήκα τόσο συναρπαστικό. Έχω διαβάσει πολύ πιο ωραία βιβλία πνευματικής αναζήτησης.

Και ξέρω ότι πολλοί από εσάς ίσως με κράξετε, αλλά είναι μόνο η γνώμη μου.

Το άρωμα - Πάτρικ Ζισκιντ - εκδόσεις Ψυχογιός

Από τα πιο ωραία βιβλία που έχω διαβάσει. Ήμουν εκεί στην Τρίτη λυκείου αν θυμάμαι καλά που έπεσε στα χέρια μου και είχα συγκλονιστεί. Λίγα χρόνια μετά έγινε και ταινία που, εντάξει ωραία ήταν αλλά δεν αποτύπωσε πλήρως το συναίσθημα που σου αφήνει το βιβλίο. Μυστήριο, αγωνία, τόσα συναισθήματα που τα ξανά νιώθω όποτε σκέφτομαι το βιβλίο, ακόμα και τώρα που έχουν περάσει τόσα πολλά χρόνια. Αν δεν το έχετε διαβάσει νομίζω πως πρέπει να το κάνετε.

Επίσης ένα βιβλίο που το έχω διαβάσει χρόνια πριν. Μιας γυναίκας τα συναισθήματα, που θα μπορούσαν να ήταν τα συναισθήματα κάθε γυναίκας.

Ονειρεύτηκα το δολοφόνο σου - Αγγελική Νικολούλη - εκδόσεις Καστανιώτη

Για αυτό το βιβλίο δεν έχω να πω πολλά. δεν νομίζω ότι μπορεί κάποιος να πει μου αρέσει ή δεν μου αρέσει. Είναι βασισμένα σε αληθινή ιστορία και είναι γραμμένα μέσα όσα δεν είδαμε στην τηλεόραση για το έγκλημα στην Βέροια. Γραμμένο από την Αγγελική Νικολούλη, αυτό και ένα άλλο που θα σας το δείξω σε άλλη ανάρτηση, που ο τρόπος που τα διηγείται με άφησε άφωνη. Κυριολεκτικά είσαι εκεί και τα ζεις και εσύ μαζί με τους πρωταγωνιστές του δυστυχώς δράματος.

Τελευταίο για σήμερα άφησα ένα βιβλίο που δεν είναι μυθιστόρημα, είναι αληθινές καταγραφές ανθρώπων που ζήσανε πράγματα που ο νους ίσως και να μην μπορεί να τα φανταστεί. Είναι για αυτούς που τους αρέσει να ψάχνονται, που αναρωτιούνται, που είναι περίεργοι να μάθουν.
